SANDWICH – The sixth annual First Night Sandwich will take place on December 31st from 4pm to 9pm.
The celebration of music, art and dance is open to all, with over 100 performers expected.
Volunteer Committee member Denise Dever said a group of residents first got the event going.
“There was a group of people who got together and decided that this would be a really fun family event to show off the beautiful village of Sandwich,” she said.
Performances will take place at both indoor and outdoor venues in and around the village. A Reveler’s Parade will start at 8 pm.
Among the other features are ice sculptures, lighted giants, a resolution wall, an enchanting fairy garden and children’s crafts.
Buttons to many of the indoor events costs $10.
“We’ve sold-out of buttons many years and that’s around 2600. We have more people who come to see the parade and the big finale, fireworks,” said Dever.
The grand finale will take place at town hall, and will include cannon fire, giant sparklers, a lighthouse and fireworks.
