Sandwich Firefighters Warn Homeowners After Man Falls While Clearing Roof

Sandwich Fire LogoEAST SANDWICH – The Sandwich Fire Department is reminding the public to use caution when removing snow from their roofs after a man fell Monday afternoon.

Sandwich Fire Captain James Huska said the man fell about 20 feet from the roof of his Chandler Road home after his ladder slipped around 1 p.m.

He landed on a deck and was taken to Cape Cod Hospital for evaluation for a possible head injury, according to Huska.

Huska said the man was conscious and talking after the incident.

The Cape is expected to see more snow tonight before turning to freezing rain and rain overnight.
