Sandwich Marina to Host Annual Boating & Water Safety Day

SANDWICH – The annual Cape Cod Canal Boating & Water Safety Day will be held Saturday at the Sandwich Marina.

The event will include dock-side tours of U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers boats, water and boating safety activities with games and prizes for the whole family and free vessel checks by the Coast Guard Auxiliary.

Massachusetts Marine Fisheries officials will also be on hand with fishing equipment and tips and promotional and informational information will be available on water and boating safety.

A special appearance will also be made by Bobber the water safety dog.

The free program is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Cape Cod Canal Visitor Center and U.S. Coast Guard Station.
