Sandwich Officials to Hear More About Proposed Medical Marijuana Facility

SANDWICH – The Sandwich Board of Selectmen and Planning Board will meet Thursday night in joint session to hear from a company looking to open up a medical marijuana dispensary on Route 130.

In Good Health Inc. President David Noble is set to take questions from the boards and the public on their proposal. Company officials recently provided an overview to the town on how their dispensaries operate.

Along with support from Selectmen, the company would still need state approval and a special permit from the town’s zoning board.

The meeting is set for 7 p.m. at Sandwich Town Hall.

In Good Health currently operates a medical marijuana facility in Brockton. The company was one of 11 original applicants awarded a certificate by the state Department of Public Health to operate a medical marijuana dispensary and was the second to open one of the facilities in Massachusetts.

The company says more than 700 of their patients and caregivers commute from Cape Cod to Brockton for their medical marijuana needs.

The Sandwich location would be a dispensary-only facility.
