Sandwich Police Looking for BB Gun Culprit

police carSANDWICH – Sandwich police are on the lookout for the person responsible for shooting at a home on Oxford Road with a BB gun early this morning.

The call came in shortly after 12:30 when the resident reported somebody had shot out a window of the home. Police searched the area but did not find the culprit.

The window was not shattered but police saw nine small holes in the window and impact rings surrounded some of the holes.

The holes were consistent with the size of air soft BB pellets, according to Sandwich Patrol Officer Paul Grigorenko. Some of the holes penetrated both panes of glass while others only penetrated one side.

The shots were described as quick in succession, one after the other, the officer reported.

Barnstable Country crime scene investigators were called to the scene to take photos and the Barnstable County K9 unit was called to conduct tracking with no results.

Nobody was injured.

Anybody with information is asked to contact Sandwich police at 508-888-3343.
