Sandwich Receives Bicycle-Friendly Designation

SANDWICH – Sandwich is the latest local community to receive a Bicycle-Friendly Community designation from the League of American Cyclists.

The town received honorable mention status from the league along with positive feedback on its bicycle advocacy efforts.

The Sandwich Bikeways & Pedestrian Committee will continue to work on providing increased educational opportunities and expanding the town’s “low-stress bike network.”

The committee will continue to work to improve its bicycle-friendly status to bronze or silver.

The committee will discuss the designation at its next meeting.

Provincetown, Falmouth and Nantucket are other Cape Cod and Islands communties that have recieved a designation from the league.
