Save the Frogs Day Event to Scour Sandy Neck for Wildlife

ThinkstockPhotos-186753210BARNSTABLE – With amphibians becoming more vulnerable across the world and in Massachusetts, a group of nature observers will meet today from 10 to noon at Sandy Neck Park Beach to pick up trash and watch for a rare local species.

The walk will examine vernal pools around the area, in search for the rare Eastern Spadefoot Toad, which is threatened in Massachusetts.

The event is free and open to the public. Those interested may meet at the Sandy Neck Gatehouse at 10 a.m.
