HARWICH – Republican State Senate Candidate Anthony Schiavi has announced a series of endorsements ahead of the general election in November.
State Rep. David Vieira, State Senator Vinny deMacedo, and Barnstable County Sheriff Jim Cummings, all Republicans, announced their endorsements for Schiavi Monday. The National Federation of Independent Business and the American Federation of Government Employees are also backing the former Joint Base Cape Cod commander.
“Tony always puts the Cape and Islands first,” said Vieira, who represents Falmouth, Bourne, and Mashpee in the 3rd Barnstable District. “His time as a former Town Manager and Police Commissioner provides him with “hands-on” experience as to what local communities need from their state legislature, and he has the accomplishments to show for it.”
“His executive military leadership experience, coupled with his local government accomplishments, make him the clear choice to represent the Cape and Islands District in the State Senate,” said Cummings.
“Tony knows how to lead and produce the effective results the Cape Cod and Islands need,” said deMacedo. “He has the experience and leadership to address the many critical issues facing his region”
Schiavi faces Julian Cyr on November 8th. Incumbent Senator Dan Wolf (D-Harwich) is not seeking re-election.
