BOURNE – Following a months-long, multi-million dollar renovation of the Buzzards Bay Park, Bourne officials have okayed a new policy dictating special usage at the property.
The new policy, approved by the town’s board of selectmen, sets fees for private or commercial usage of park including a $75 non-refundable application fee, and security deposits up to $500.
“Only once in 20 years do I remember that we kept the security deposit, due to damage to the park” said Krissanne Caron, Director of Bourne’s Recreation Department.
Additionally, commercial events must provide proof of insurance for the event and any dogs at the park are required to remain leashed.
The revamped park, located along the Cape Cod Canal includes a performance pavilion, children’s play area with a splash pad and memorial grove.
