Cape Symphony to Host Annual ‘Young People’s Concert’

HYANNIS – For the past 17 years, elementary school students have been entertained by the Cape Symphony when they’ve presented a special, themed concert exclusively for them.

This year’s Young People’s Concert will take them on a musical journey with the theme ‘A trip Around North America’.

Students will enjoy the musical works of different cultures across the continent, including the Caribbean Islands, Mexico, Canada and the United States.

There will be two performances, each lasting about an hour. Students from several Cape elementary schools will sing and play with the symphony for two songs.

There will be interactive graphics projected above the orchestra so all attending can sing and move together.

Each year, the young people’s concert reaches approximately 2,800 fourth and fifth graders.

The performances will take place on Wednesday, November 29th at the Barnstable Performing Center on Main Street in Hyannis.

Show times are 9:45 & 11:15 a.m..
