Sewer Construction Set to Resume in Chatham

CHATHAM – Sewer construction is scheduled to resume next week in Chatham.

The installation of sewers will be conducted on several side roads under the current phase (1C-2) of the Comprehensive Wastewater Management Plan.

The phase involves the continuation of sewer extensions in the Oyster Pond watershed.

Work is expected weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. through May before stopping for the summer.

Construction is expected to begin on Wheldon Way before moving to The Cornfield and Village Landing.

Additional roads contracted for work include Spinnaker Lane, Earle’s Way, Janes Way, Oyster Pong Furlong (drainage), Tabitha Terrace, Absegami Run, Oyster Bluff, Oyster Pond Lane, Independence Lane, Inlet Road, Grist Mill Lane, Tide Mill Lane, Wineberry Way, Shattuck Place and Shattuck Lane.

Further updates will be provided as the work progresses.

Police details and signage will be in place to assist motorists.

Impacted roads will be open nights, weekends and holidays to all traffic. Work during the weeks of Christmas and News Year’s will be conducted Wednesday through Friday.
