ORLEANS – Hundreds of Labor Day beachgoers witnessed a shark attack a seal near shore at Nauset Beach, marking the second time in the last two weeks there has been a predation at Nauset.
The incident happened about 40 feet from shore. The attack two weeks ago was about 20 feet offshore.
Swimmers were ordered out of the water as a result and were allowed back in about an hour later.
Experts say August and September are the busiest months for shark activity in local waters.
