EASTHAM – Swimmers at Nauset Light Beach in Eastham were ordered out of the water Wednesday morning after a shark was spotted eating a seal just one-quarter mile north of the bathing area.
According to the White Shark Conservancy Twitter page, the water was closed to swimming until no shark activity was seen for one hour.
The Conservancy’s Sharktivity app was the first to alert people in the area about the shark.
According the app, swimmers at Coast Guard Beach in Eastham were also limited to only wading in the water following the shark sighting.
