Shark Sightings Close Head of the Meadow, Marconi Beaches

NORTH TRURO – Shark sightings closed two Outer Cape beaches on Monday.

According to the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy’s Sharktivity app, Head of the Meadow Beach in North Truro was closed twice.

The first sighting was just after 1 p.m. The second was made by a Cape Cod National Seashore lifeguard about 50 yards from shore around 4 p.m.

A lifeguard spotted a great white at Marconi Beach in Wellfleet just before noon.

The beaches were closed to swimming for at least an hour – pending further sightings.
