Shark Sightings Close Down Eastham Beaches

AppEASTHAM – Shark activity closed down two National Seashore beaches in Eastham Wednesday.

Swimmers at Nauset Light Beach were told to get out of the water around 10 a.m. when a shark was spotted eating a seal just north of the lifeguard station.

Later on, a spotter pilot with the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy saw four white sharks about 300 yards off Nauset Light Beach, leading to an hour-long closure of both Nauset Light and Coast Guard Beach.

Swimmers were eventually let back in the water.
