Shorebird Management Plan Approved

PROVINCETOWN – The Shorebird Management Plan compiled by officials with the National Seashore has been approved by the National Park Service’s Regional Director, who found the plan created no significant impact on the environment. “We are excited to begin implementing the Shorebird Management Plan with the goal to increase shorebird populations while maintaining and improving visitor access,” said Cape Cod National Seashore Superintendent Brian Carlstrom.

Through the plan, the Seashore will seek to meet recovery goals for shorebirds though management techniques that maintain visitor access away from nests, increased visitor restrictions at certain places and times and increased survival of chicks by non-lethal management of common nest predators.
