Short Film Offers Virtual Tour of Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary

WELLFLEET – “For many it’s a place to step away, to dream, to seek nature, to relax and to become centered.”

That’s a description of the Mass Audubon Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary in a short film created for the visitor center and as a fundraising tool.

The best way to experience the Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary is in person, but individuals, who can’t make it to the Cape or are planning a trip, can take a virtual tour of the area with the short film “The Sanctuary.”

The wildlife sanctuary consists of nearly one-thousand acres of woodlands, marshes, and barrier beach habitats.

The short film details the external beauty of the sanctuary, along with the inside story of the conservation and endangered species management on the Outer Cape.

The film was created by Chris Szwedo, who lives in Eastham and is a frequent visitor to Wellfleet Bay.

Szwedo has produced and photographed a range of documentaries and films and has traveled throughout North America and Europe for several clients that includes The Louvre and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.

He spent about a year working to capture the essence of the sanctuary and its people.
