Shrink Wrap Disposal Program Begins

WOODS HOLE -Woods Hole Sea Grant is conducting its annual shrink wrap collection program for mariners unwrapping their boats after winter storage.

Cape residents can bring clean, white shrink wrap to the Bourne Integrated Solid Waste Management Facility from 9-noon on Tuesdays, the Dennis Transfer Station from 8-11 on Sundays and the Eastham Transfer Station on Thursdays from noon-3.

Dump stickers are not needed and the program will run from April 16th to June 3th as long as space remains.

Officials with the program say it is only for white wrap and any foreign material must be removed, including doors, straps, zippers, mud, dirt and leaves. The Material is then to be bundled and secured with a strap made from the wrapping to reduce space necessary for its disposal.
