Silver Alert Meeting in Yarmouth

Yarmouth PoliceYARMOUTH – The Yarmouth Police Department will be hosting a very special Open House event for families that have a relative or loved one with a cognitive impairment who is at risk of wandering from home or getting lost.

The event is today from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Representatives from Silver Alert, SafetyNet and the Wanderer’s Program will be in attendance for information sharing and program registration.

The Silver Alert Program—the Wanderer’s Program—and SafetyNet all work with family members to improve the response time and effectiveness in locating a person with Alzheimer’s disease or related dementia when he or she is reported missing.

Information and a recent photograph of the family member are gathered that can help the police identify and locate the person.

Collecting this information before an incident occurs enables the police department to begin search procedures immediately.

Families are encouraged to attend to learn more about how each of the programs can assist in quickly locating a missing loved one.

For more information regarding this event, please contact Detective Sergeant Kal Boghdan at 508-775-0445 extension 2313 or Patrol Officer Sean Gannon at extension 2357.
