Small Plane Crashes in Bedford

BEDFORD – Authorities have confirmed that seven people have died in a fatal plane crash at Hanscom Field in Bedford Saturday night.

“A Gulf Stream 4 jet crashed on departure from Hanscom with seven people on board,” said Sharon Williams, Director of Hanscom Field. “I am sorry to report that there were no survivors. Our thoughts and prayers go out to their families and their loved ones.”

Bedford Police and Fire Officials along with a Hazardous Materials team responded to the scene at approximately 9:42 p.m.

Ed Freni, Massachusetts Port Authority Director of Aviation, said Hanscom Field will be under a Temporary Flight Restriction until National Transportation Safety Board investigates and all air traffic will be diverted to other facilities.
