HYANNIS – A prescribed burn in Mashpee Tuesday afternoon sent smoke conditions drifting into sections of Barnstable.
People in Cotuit, Osterville, Centerville and sections of Hyannis were able smell and see smoke around 1 p.m.
An official with the Mashpee Fire Department said the controlled burn was taking place in the Red Brook area, but was being put out at 1:30 p.m.
