WAREHAM – The company which operates Tobey Hospital in Wareham and others in New Bedford and Fall River was recently given national recognition.
Southcoast Health was rated grade “A” in dedication to patient safety by the Fall 2016 Hospital Safety Grades conducted by Leapfrog, an independent nonprofit.
The safety rating is the only one in the nation which is peer-reviewed in the Journal of Patient Safety and measures how well a facility prevents medical errors, infections in the hospital, and other injuries.
The panel of experts who review hospitals twice a year assign A, B, C, D, and F grades to over 2,500 facilities in the nation.
