Southcoast Health Recognized for Value to the Community

southcoast logoSouthcoast Health has been recognized for a second straight year as one of the top 100 Community Value Providers in the county.

The non-profit healthcare system received the recognition from the healthcare financial firm Cleverley and Associates.

The firm determines its list by measuring the value that a hospital provides to its community.

“As a not-for-profit healthcare system, our primary mission is to provide high-quality care to patients and add significant value to our communities,” said Keith Hovan, the president and CEO of Southcoast Health, in a statement. “As the region’s largest employer and economic contributor, we take immense pride in our role of positively impacting the overall quality of life for everyone living on the South Coast.”

Southcoast Health operates Tobey Hospital in Wareham, Charlton Memorial in Fall River, St. Luke’s in New Bedford, and Southcoast Behavioral Health in Dartmouth.

The organization serves more than 719,000 residents in 33 cities and towns. It also operates two Centers for Cancer Care, two Urgent Care Centers, a physician’s network, an employed physicians group, a visiting nurse association and numerous ambulatory facilities.
