PROVINCETOWN – Residents in Provincetown will be voting in a special election to fill a selectmen’s seat on Thursday.
The contest is between planning board member John Golden and historic district commission member Michela Carew-Murphy.
Both Golden and Carew-Murphy withdrew nomination papers after former Select Board Chairman Thomas Donegan resigned in December following a death in his family.
Golden has lived in the town for 27 years and has spent eight years serving on the Planning Board.
Carew-Murphy owns Seaside Sitters and runs the restaurant “Sal’s Place” with her family. She’s been in the town her entire life and says she plans to form weekly get-togethers to allow the public to get to know her.
Residents will be able to cast a vote between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. at Provincetown Town Hall on Thursday, February 21.
