SANDWICH – It’s the time of year for spring cleaning and the Sandwich Conservation trust is looking to tidy up some of the town’s conservation sites and their walking trails.
The nonprofit organization, which works to preserve the natural and undeveloped land in Sandwich, for habitat protection, recreation, and visual beauty, will hold the Spring Work Party on Saturday, April 22 beginning at 9 a.m.
The Trust is looking for volunteers to help with the woodland management by cutting back grass and brambles growing over trail edges.
Volunteers should wear long pants and sturdy footwear that can get muddy and tick prevention is also necessary.
The Trust does not have the necessary tools for the work and volunteers are asked to bring their own gloves, pruning shears, pruning saws and loppers.
Attendees are also asked to bring a water bottle.
The Work Party will meet at the entrance to Elinor’s Woods on Ploughed Neck Road in East Sandwich.
