St. Mary’s Church Raises More Than $5,000 for Harvey Relief

BARNSTABLE – St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Barnstable raised over $5,000 last weekend for relief efforts in Texas.

The church ran a car wash to benefit the victims of Hurricane Harvey on Saturday and raised over $4,000. Collection at Sunday services raised over $1,000 and a bake sale run by children raised nearly $150.

In total, $5,224 was donated throughout the weekend.

“The community embraced it and many volunteers turned out to assist with manpower or donations,” said Judy Walden Scarafile, one of the organizers for the fundraisers.
