St. Mary’s Episcopal Church on Main Street in Barnstable Village is Moving

BARNSTABLE- St. Mary’s Episcopal Church on Main Street in Barnstable Village is moving, about 50 feet that is, due to renovations occurring in the church and parish hall.

Because of this change, Saturday evening and Sunday morning church services will be moving across the street to the Olde Colonial Courthouse.

Renovations to the church will include the installation of an elevator, handicapped accessible bathrooms, a fire sprinkler system, a playground, and finally a restoration of the church entrance.

A major financial capital campaign was started back in March to get this project off the ground, and has since raised more than $1 million toward the $1.7 million renovation goal.

Construction, which began last week, is expected to be completed in late December, at which point St Mary’s parishioners will return to worship in their newly renovated sanctuary.
