BARNSTABLE – The Massachusetts Appeal Court has affirmed the second degree murder conviction of Julian Green.
Green was found guilty by a Barnstable Superior Court Jury in July 2010 for murder, assault with a dangerous weapon and assault and battery.
On the evening of July 18, 2007, shots from two different guns were fired into a residence on General Patton Road in Hyannis, killing Jacques Sellers.
The 28 year old Boston native was sentenced to a term of life for murder in the second degree and 3-5 years on the two assault charges.
Green’s lawyers raised multiple claims on appeal, alleging errors in both the trail proceedings and the denial of the motion for a new trial.
The case was investigated by the State Police Detectives Unit of the Cape and Islands District Attorney’s Office and the Barnstable Police Department.
