BARNSTABLE – The town of Barnstable is moving forward in housing production, thanks in part to a $5,000 grant from the state.

The money comes as part of the community compact agreement in a housing production plan.

It was used to create the Open Budget website, which is currently live and accessible from the town’s website.

Town Manager Tom Lynch said that project is the follow up from last year’s housing needs assessment.

“What will be happening over the course of the next few months is outreach into various communities to see if we can identify sites,” he said. “We need to move forward with how to produce the housing which supports the need.”
