State Grant to Fund Heating Upgrade at Scusset Beach Garage

moneyBOURNE – A state grant will fund the installation of a new, high-efficiency heating system at the Scusset Beach maintenance garage.

The garage houses equipment and supports visitor services at the Scusset Beach State Reservation. The new system is expected to save the state more than $5,000 per year in energy costs.

“Scusset Beach is a wonderful resource and attraction for our region and this investment will allow it to take the lead in reducing energy costs while maintaining the natural beauty for which it is known,” said Plymouth-Barnstable State Senator Vinny deMacedo (R-Plymouth)

“I am a big proponent of saving money and promoting clean energy, and I consider it to be a win whenever the state can check off both of those boxes with our public works projects,” State Rep. Randy Hunt (R-Sandwich)

The installation will cost about $41,000.
