BOSTON – The Baker Administration has announced a series of grants to support conservation efforts statewide, with a number of local projects receiving funding.
The Cape Cod Conservation District is in line for $42,000 for the Cape Cod Water Resources Restoration Project Plan. The money will be used to inspect and inventory ongoing projects.
$42,000 will also fund the development of a pollinator habitat demonstration site in West Wareham at the USDA/NRCS Service Center. The site will provide educational opportunities for farmers in the area.
$26,000 will support farmers on Martha’s Vineyard and will be used to examine the impact of nitrogen on the Tisbury Great Pond watershed.
In total, $250,000 in funding is being distributed for projects across Massachusetts.
“Conservation District Innovation Grants will not only give financial support to local conservation districts who work incredibly hard to promote good stewardship practices within the Commonwealth, but they also underscore our administration’s commitment to serving as a reliable partner to cities, towns and local entities like these districts,” said Gov. Charlie Baker.
