State Launches Two-Year Route 3 Construction Project

KINGSTON – State officials have started up an overnight road work project on Route 3.

Crews will be resurfacing the road and working on a number of bridges in the stretch of highway between exits 8 and 11. Construction will take place on the northbound and southbound sides of the highway.

Roadway improvements are also planned for the on and off-ramps in the area. Crews will also be trimming trees and installing new curbing and guardrail in the construction zone.

Work hours are from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. No work will take place on Route 3 South on Friday nights and Route 3 North on Sunday nights.

The project will take about 2 years to complete, according to MassDOT.
