State Public Safety Officials to Send Donated Items to Storm-Ravaged Puerto Rico

WORCESTER – The Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency will be loading pallets of donated goods onto trucks today destined to help those still suffering from the hurricane in Puerto Rico.

The trucks will transport the goods to Florida where they will be loaded onto cargo ships for delivery to the island.

The 264 pallets of goods consist of bottled water, canned goods and non-perishable food, baby food and diapers, flashlights and batteries, and personal hygiene products.

They were donated at community events across the state, including Cape Cod, before being collected by the National Guard and delivered to a MEMA-operated warehouse in Worcester.
