State Rep. Peake Highlights 2018 Accomplishments

HARWICH – Provincetown State Representative Sarah Peake discussed her achievements in 2018 and her future goals to an audience at the Harwich Democratic Town Committee on Saturday.

Peake, who was elected in 2007 and is in her 7th term, talked about the new AirBNB tax, which is expected to bring back millions of dollars to the Cape.

She also discussed her coordinated efforts with the entire Cape delegation to pass the 50 mile radius bill to ensure safety while decommissioning the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Plant.

Peake indicated she will be re-filling the 4th Amendment Electronic Privacy Bill that would not allow checking your electronic devices without a warrant.

She along with Brad Jones are working to preserve and increase of carbon sequestration by allowing local communities to increase density bonuses in areas that will leave large swath of lands as open space.

The Harwich Democratic Town Committee typically meets the first Saturday of each month at the Harwich Community Center. All are welcome to attend.
