BREWSTER – State Representative Tim Whelan (R-Brewster) has announced his committee assignments for the current legislative session that began last month.
Whelan will return to serve again on both the Joint Committee on Higher Education and as the minority ranking member on the Joint Committee on Public Service.
He will also serve on the House Committee on Ways and Means, which has oversight of the state budget, as well as bills which carry a financial impact.
Whelan will serve as the only representative from the Cape and Islands delegation to the committee.
“After consultation with my colleagues from both sides of the aisle I sought assignment to Ways and Means so that our region could have a voice on what is viewed by many as the most powerful committee on Beacon Hill,” said Whelan.
Whelan will return to the Joint Committee on Higher Education where he has been an advocate for expanding public college opportunities through Cape Cod Community College
