Senator Cyr Seeking Nominees for 79th Citizens’ Legislative Seminar

HYANNIS – Cape and Islands State Senator Julian Cyr is seeking nominees to participate in the 79th Citizens’ Legislative Seminar that will be held October 24 and 25 at the State House in Boston.

CLS is a semi-annual educational seminar geared towards adults of all ages interested in learning more about state government and the legislative process.

“This is a terrific opportunity for residents of the Cape and Islands District to come to Beacon Hill and learn the work of our elected officials and public servants,” said Cyr.

Established in 1976, the two-day seminar features presentations by Senators and staff on aspects of the day-to-day experience of legislators in the Commonwealth.

Topics include the history and process of the Legislature, parliamentary role of the Clerk of the Senate and future of the Legislature.

The seminar will walk participants through the legislative process, including how bills are introduced, debated and passed.

Those interested are asked to contact Senator Cyr’s office at (617) 722-1570 by Friday, September 1st, in order to be nominated.
