Steamship Authority Seeking Opinions on Draft Mission Statement

FALMOUTH – The Steamship Authority is asking the public for their thoughts on a draft mission statement.

“Our mission is to operate a safe, efficient, and reliable transportation system for the islands of Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket in an environment committed to sustainability, accessibility and community engagement,” the draft document reads.

It was developed after public outreach over the summer.

The Steamship Authority will be hosting three sessions over the coming weeks to solicit feedback from the public on the draft. All sessions are at 4 p.m.

The first will take place in the Hyannis terminal Wednesday afternoon.

Next Thursday, October 17, a session will take place at the Martha’s Vineyard Museum.

The SSA Administration Building in Falmouth will be the site of the final meeting on October 21.
