Steamship Authority OK’s Nearly Half Million in Change Orders

WOODS HOLE- On Tuesday the Steamship Authority’s Board of Governors approved two change orders for the ongoing project for the new Woods Hole terminal, the Vineyard Gazette reports.

SSA General Manager Robert Davis says the orders, totaling over $483,000, are being paid for out of a contingency fund for the project totaling about 5 million dollars to cover unforeseen events.

The latest spending brings the total used so far out of the fund to about $2.2 million in change orders and other contingencies. Davis explained that when the $60 million project was approved the contingency fund was also given the green light.

The larger portion of the two expenditures is $314,862 for restoring the slip 3 bulkhead. $168,450 is going to pay for driving monopoles for the slip.
