WOODS HOLE – The Steamship Authority has announced that all veterans and active duty military personnel will ride for free on Veterans Day, November 11.

The offer is valid only for the active duty military person, veteran or retired military veteran and does not include the passage of a vehicle or any additional passengers.

Tickets will only be available on Veterans Day and will only be valid for travel that day.

All United States military personnel and veterans who plan on traveling between Hyannis and Nantucket or Woods Hole and Martha’s Vineyard on Veterans Day can pick up their passenger ticket at their respective Steamship Authority ticket office.

The promotion was created at the urging of several of the Authority’s Board Members, who sought a way to honor those who had served their country.
