The Steamship Authority is planning a third slip at its Woods Hole terminal.

WOODS HOLE – The Steamship Authority vessel sidelined by electrical problems remains out of service.

The M/V Martha’s Vineyard was supposed to return to its regular routes Tuesday, but now the boat line anticipates the vessel won’t be back in service until Wednesday.

The Coast Guard is expected to inspect the Martha’s Vineyard Tuesday and review the repairs that were made over the weekend at the Fairhaven shipyard. The Steamship Authority says all the repair work is complete.

The vessel lost power on a trip between Martha’s Vineyard and Woods Hole two weekends ago and experienced a generator problem last week.

The M/V Sankaty has operating in place of the M/V Martha’s Vineyard since last week.
