WEST BARNSTABLE – Cape Cod Community College will be hosting a production of the Steve Martin comedy “Picasso at the Lapin Agile” beginning next week.
The play takes place at a Paris bar, the Lapin Agile, in 1904 and imagines a conversation between Pablo Picasso and Albert Einstein, two soon-to-be legends with egos are as big as their intellects.
Einstein, who is just a year away from publishing his theory of relativity, and Picasso, who will soon complete his famed Les Demoiselles d’Avignon have a lengthy debate about the value of genius and talent with the bar room’s regulars and each other about art, science, inspiration, love, and the promise of the 20th century.
Tickets are on sale now for “Picasso at the Lapin Agile.” The show opens on August 17 and continues the 18th and 19th, 24th, 25th and 26th at 8:00 pm and Aug 20th at 4:00 pm. Tickets are $25 General / $20 Seniors / $15 Students and can ordered online at www.capecod.edu/theatre or by calling the Box Office.
