Storm Disrupts Ferry Service Between Cape & Islands

HYANNIS – The high winds are causing travel issues Thursday for ferry passengers between Cape Cod and the Islands.

The Steamship Authority has canceled all remaining trips Thursday.

Friday will also be a reservation only day on the Authority’s Vineyard Route with no standby travel.

Everyone who was booked for travel on the Vineyard route Thursday whose trip was canceled must rebook their trip either online or by calling the reservation office if they wish to travel on Friday.

The Authority is nearly entirely booked for vehicular traffic leaving Woods Hole on Friday. Customers who had reservations on a canceled trip on Thursday who wish to travel as a passenger may park their vehicles for free at an Authority lot by showing their reservation confirmation. The Blue Line will be in effect for those with islander profiles.

Hy-Line Cruises has also canceled all scheduled trips Thursday.

For the latest updates, customers should check the Steamship Authority or Hy-Line websites or call reservation offices.
