Strong Winds Impacting Ferry Service; Cold Shuts Down Provincetown School

KA_Hyannis_Highline Ferry Steamship Hy Line boat fishing31_112415HYANNIS – It’s a cold and windy morning on Cape Cod and the Islands.

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory and is forecasting 20 to 30 mph sustained winds, with gusts up to 50 mph.

Today’s highs will be in the mid-20s.

The winds have been delaying ferry travel between Hyannis and Nantucket, with cancellations from the Steamship Authority and Hy-Line.

Both will be on a boat-by-boat basis throughout the day.

The cold weather has also impacted the heating system at the Provincetown school building, prompting the cancellation of classes for the day.
