HYANNIS – Graduating seniors from Sturgis Charter Public School will be providing a day a service for local organizations next week.
Students from the East and West campuses will be spread across Cape Cod on Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
They will be involved in numerous service learning activities that include musical performances and resident interactions at Cape Regency and Royal Cape Nursing Centers, along with a Main Street cleanup for the Hyannis Business Improvement District and yardwork and landscaping for Cape Cod Development and Homeless not Hopeless sites in Hyannis.
“All of our seniors take part in community service before they graduate,” said Jim Barrasso, the Sturgis East Creativity, Activity and Service Coordinator. “It’s an important core value of our school.”
Senior Service Day has been a tradition at Sturgis since the inception of the school.
