NANTUCKET – A weekly survey by AAA finds Cape Codders paying on average 20 cents more at the gas pump than drivers off-Cape, but that difference seems minuscule compared to the prices on Nantucket.

One listener on the island sent the CapeCod.com Newscenter photos of four Nantucket gas stations, where self-serve regular is selling between $3.45 and $3.57 per gallon.

According to GasBuddy.com, self-serve regular on Martha’s Vineyard is selling from a low of $2.89 in West Tisbury to a high of $3.15 in Edgartown.

AAA reports the statewide average is $2.05 per gallon, with the average price in the Barnstable-Yarmouth area at $2.25 per gallon.

Many gas stations off-Cape Cod can be found selling gas below $2.00 per gallon.
