Summer Starts Early In Harwich

HARWICH – The summer season in Harwich is starting early this year thanks to the Chamber of Commerce.

This years “Toast of Harwich” will take place on Friday April 27th, instead of the usual second weekend in May.  It will also go back to its original concept of just one location which is the Wequassett Resort and Golf Club.

Another major change is the offering of three different levels of tickets.  Cyndi Williams, Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce, explains the two new tiers.  “We have reserved a private room in the main inn for an exclusive, elite wine tasting.  We also have a V.I.P. champaign reception.”  The prices are $150 and $100 respectively.

The general admission tickets are $75 and include access to the wine tasting, and food presentations from fifteen local restaurants.

This year’s silent auction contains the usual wide variety of items.  Williams tells of one package that is perfect as we recover from this year’s intense winter weather.  “It’s called the “Harwich Storm Recovery Package.  We have a portable generator.  We’re also going to partner with some landscapers and include an outdoor shower.”

The Rip it Ups will provide the music.

All in attendance will receive a Toast of Harwich wine glass.

The 350 tickets are on sale and can be purchased at www.harwichcc.com or by calling 508-430-1165.
