Sunday Journal with Adam Chaprales

chapralesFocusing on politics in advance of the general election on November 4, we interview Adam Chaprales who is challenging the incumbent in the Second Barnstable District.

Adam Chaprales is a life-long resident of Cape Cod, who was raised in a family of commercial fisherman, the son of a Portuguese mother and a Greek father.

At the age of 14, Chaprales started his own business called Dockside Detailing, spending his summer vacations detailing boats for extra cash. After graduating from Sandwich High School, he put himself through college, earning an Associate’s degree from Cape Cod Community College.

At 21, Chaprales was elected to the Board of Selectman in Sandwich. In 2008, he became Vice Chairman of the Board. He also served as liaison to the Sandwich Hollows Golf Advisory Committee, School Committee liaison, and Cemetery Commissioner.

He starred in The Adam Show, a local cable access television show he produced to shed light on issues affecting Massachusetts and the local Cape communities.

He joined New York Life Company, a Fortune 100 investments and insurance company. While working full-time, he attended Suffolk University and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism in 2011.

In 2010, Adam married his wife, Aynaz. The couple resides in Centerville with their infant son and two dogs. Adam owns MassMutual Financial Group Agency in Hyannis, where he leads a staff of 13 associates.
