Suspect in Hyannis Hit and Run Arraigned on Charges

157867210 (1)HYANNIS – The suspect who allegedly struck 26 year old Amber Scanlon with her car on Pitcher’s Way in Hyannis on Tuesday night was arraigned on a number of charges Wednesday.

Sarah Allard was charged with motor vehicle homicide by negligent operation, leaving the scene of personal injury and death, leaving the scene of personal injury and unlicensed operation.

Police said that the 31 year old Hyannis woman struck Scanlon around 10 p.m. and left the scene.

Police located the vehicle an hour later.

Scanlon, of Falmouth, was rushed to Cape Cod Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Allard’s bail was set at $7,500 with GPS monitoring and her next court date is scheduled for October 7.
