FALMOUTH – Suspects allegedly involved in the shooting of two Falmouth police officers last month will be back in Falmouth District Court this week.
A dangerousness hearing will be held for Malik Koval on Thursday.
He’s accused of firing at Officers Don DeMiranda and Ryan Moore as they responded to reports of a disturbance on Ashley Drive.
Koval was charged with disturbing the peace, two counts of assault to murder, two counts of assault and battery on a police officer, two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and carrying a firearm without a license.
He pleaded not guilty to those charges from a Boston hospital bed after also being shot, and was held without bail pending the hearing.
A pretrial hearing will be held Wednesday for the alleged shooter’s mother, Kimberly Koval, and her son Marcus Maseda, who allegedly tried to interfere with the officer’s efforts when responding to the disturbance.
Both are charged with obstruction of justice, assault and battery on a police officer and interfering with the duties of a police officer.
Maseda and Kimberly Koval both originally posted $5,000 bail, which was increased by a judge to $7,500 each.
Both officers are recovering.
