BUZZARDS BAY – Just days after returning to Buzzards Bay, the T.S. Kennedy is leaving once again.
The Massachusetts Maritime Academy’s training vessel is headed to Brooklyn, New York today for scheduled maintenance following the nearly two-month Sea Term. A number of cadets will sail with the Kennedy to the shipyard.
After the repair work, the T.S. Kennedy will then be turned over to a crew from Texas A&M for their summer Sea Term. The vessel is scheduled to return to Buzzards Bay in July.
Students have been busy unloading the Kennedy after returning on Sunday. She carried nearly 600 cadets and staff for the training voyage south in January and February.
Stops were made in Colombia, Barbados, St. Thomas, and Tampa, Florida.
